Homegrown-music Est 2000

It was way back in 2000 when Adam B, Tom Golden and Nathan Landry put on their first event in the sleepy and musically backward town of Northwich in Cheshire, the aim being to showcase their deep, techy, US influenced sounds and also to show the locals that there was more to life than hard trance.

Since then we (joined by youngster Woody in 2002) have spent the last ten years DJing across the country at venues such as The Bomb, Stealth, Electric Chair, Sankeys Soap, Turnmills, The Masque, and the sadly missed Groovetech Radio as well as numerous trips across Europe to play in Belgium, France, Spain, Montenegro and our favourite country: Croatia – where we hold down a yearly residency at The Zagreb Film Festival (we play each night at the the ofcial parties).

Adam and Tom have released tracks on one of the UK’s up-and-coming house labels, Lost My Dog, Pete Dafeet’s Southside Shuffle and also Greenhouse Recordings. Adam has joined a small and elite group of DJs that have won I-DJ magazine’s ‘Top Tape’ and also Muzik Magazines ‘Bedroom Bedlam’.

Tom also ran the successful Stylus parties in Manchester (alongside Les Croasdaile and Scott Carey) where he brought to the rainy city many world class DJs including, Jimpster, Phil Weeks, Jason Hodges, Justin Long, Jay Tripwire, Ralph Lawson, Hipp-e, Joey Youngman, Karizma, Ashley Beedle and many more.

The main focus for us now is the website Homegrown-music.com which was launched in 2001 and has recently undergone an huge overhaul into a modern blog based site and is summed up by the simple strapline ‘It’s All About Good House Music’.
