Justin Long & Mazi to record a live CD at Smartbar

Chicago’s long-running Smart Bar will host a special club event on November 21 with Justin Long and Mazi Namvar: the duo, also known as Wasted Chicago Youth, will record their DJ sets to be released next year on TuningSpork Records as a double-disc set, inaugurating the label’s 10-year anniversary.

I'll be spinning for Manchester's Out of the Gloom this coming Saturday at Dave Haslam's Sweet Sensation at The Ruby Lounge. You can expect all types of music from both rooms, classic funk, quality soul, disco, broken-beat and house anthems galore. Joining Dave in the main room will be Chris E, whilst the Out of the Gloom room features new resident Gavin Hayes, Geoff B (pass the feeling on) and my good old self.

Lovebirds – N2Deep on Lazy Days Recordings

We've all been big fans of Lovebirds aka Sebastian ‘Basti’ Döring's releases and remixes here at Homegrown HQ since his first ep dropped on Winding Road back in 2007, and his 'In The Shadow' release later in the same year tore the roof off the Studenski Center when it was playing at our residency in Zagreb. Basti is back with an absolute beast of an EP on Fred Everything's fantastic Lazy Days imprint.

Warehouse Project 09 Line Ups

Well the Warehouse Project line ups for 2009 have been announced and as usual they are packing them in at the Store Street venue for the final three months of the year. They really have pushed the boat out this year and have some awesome parties lined up. Highlights for me include Friday 16th October with the fantastic Greg Wilson, Areoplane, Alexander Robotnick and the Idjut Boys. For solid house it has to be the events on 20th November (Cocoon) with headliners Locodice and DJ Sneak and the Cadenza Records showcase with the legend that is Luciano and Rhadoo on Friday 4th December.
