Pete Dafeet started Southside Shuffle in 2004 as a means to promote music from young, like minded producers.  Created when digital music was but a babe (indeed, the first digital only release to be reviewed in DJ Mag was the label’s ninth), Southside Shuffle aims to showcases fresh and innovative music from around the world, specialising in deep house and electronic grooves.

After a two year hiatus, the label returned with a bang in 2008 with a mix of weathered veterans like Jay Tripwire and Harold Heath to fresh young things in the shape of Johan ELG and The Systemite.  This eclectic blend of deepness struck a chord across the house scene – Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cattaneo, Mark Farina, and Slam were regular supporters in ’08, and even Danny Tenaglia chipped in.

2009 will see Shuffle’s output increase.  Expect the unexpected as the label’s sound widens, with releases from some of Europe and the World’s finest young talent.
