Luke Mckeehan 

Nordic Trax label founder Luke McKeehan is a well recognized name in house circles these days. His mixed-cd, ‘Lazy Transmissions’ (released 2001), quickly became an NT best-seller while being released in over 20 territories abroad. Luke has been keepin’ it real on the decks since 1985, in the process becoming one of Canada’s most celebrated DJs. He has deejayed alongside such notable DJs as Mark Farina, H-Foundation, DJ Heather, Gilles Peterson, Danny Tenaglia, Marques Wyatt, Little ‘Louie’ Vega, Doc Martin, Jazzanova , Diz, DJ Heather and Ben Watt as well as opening for St. Germain, Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, Jamiroquai and David Bowie to name only a few. Luke is also the pioneering force behind Vancouver’s groundbreaking club Sonar , which has consistently delivered some of the most forward-thinking club nights the city has witnessed since its inception in the mid-nineties.

As a veteran of Toronto’s warehouse scene in the 1980′s, Luke McKeehan’s contribution to Canada’s ever-growing dance culture runs deep. His innovative DJ sets and critically acclaimed productions have earned him fans worldwide and through Nordic Trax he has played a pivotal role in helping push Canadian dance music in new and exciting directions. Nordic Trax releases have been widely licensed to other dance compilations, web & tv advertisements as well as film and tv productions large & small. Clients include Queer As Folk, Nike, Defected Records, Om Records, Sony Canada, Sony Sweden, Puschkin Vodka, UCMG France, PIAS Germany, Global Underground, Max Music, Turbo Recordings, Dune, Blast Radius, Alliance/Atlantis and many more.

Since the birth of Nordic Trax in 1997, Luke has released over twenty-five singles and seven albums from artists including Gavin Froome , Tim Shumaker a.k.a. Home & Garden , JT Donaldson , Colette, Swayzak , Morgan Page , DJ Heather, Halo Varga, and Andrew Macari amongst others . This is alongside his own productions & remixes, including the critically acclaimed ‘New CPU Experience’ which received chart support from DJs such as Gilles Peterson, Kenny Hawkes and Fred Everything . NT releases have received praise in Mixmag, DJ Magazine, XLR8R, Jockey Slut, URB, Bigshot, i-D Magazine, Exclaim, Muzik, Level, Straight No Chaser, Ministry Magazine, The Georgia Straight, Saturday Night, The Montreal Mirror and Now Magazine amongst others.
